Baker Heart & Diabetes Institute

The Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute is an independent, internationally renowned medical research facility, with a history spanning more than 93 years. The Institute's work extends from the laboratory to wide-scale community studies with a focus on diagnosis, prevention and treatment of diabetes, cardiovascular disease and associated metabolic diseases.

The comprehensive range of research undertaken to target these deadly diseases, combined with the flexibility and innovation to respond to changing health and community needs, is unique and sets the Baker Institute apart from other health and research Institutes.

Cybec Foundation began its support of the then Baker Heart Research Institute in 2004. Over the last 16 years, Cybec Foundation has funded numerous scholarships for young scientists at the Baker Institute, allowing them to complete their studies and go on to make great advancements and discoveries in the fight against heart disease and diabetes.
